How does data transfer work in the File Manager feature?

This applies to the File Manager feature. When you download a file from the target device through the File Manager, the transfer is encrypted and the file is never stored on our servers — it goes straight to your browser and nowhere else.

Free and metered downloads

Files under 10 MB are free — they arrive instantly over the same live connection you use to view the device.

What does a download cost?

Browsing folders and downloading small files (under 10 MB) is always free. Larger downloads use credits — 1 credit for every 10 MB. For example, a 50 MB file costs 5 credits and a 200 MB file costs 20 credits. You see the exact amount and confirm before each download, and if a download is cancelled or fails, you are not charged.
Why do large downloads use credits?

Transferring large files quickly, securely and reliably is a heavy operation that uses real bandwidth and resources. Metering it with credits keeps the service sustainable and fair — heavier usage is covered by those who need it, while folder browsing and smaller downloads stay free for everyone.

You also start with a generous allowance: every plan already includes 1000 credits every month — enough for around 10 GB of large-file downloads. Most people never use it all, and you can top up any time if you do.
Why can't I download while streaming?

Both file downloads and live camera / microphone / screen streaming use a direct live connection to the device. To keep transfers fast and stable, the device handles one of them at a time. So a download can't run at the same moment as a live stream, and only one large download runs at a time.
A session seems stuck — what can I do?

If a download or a live stream ever appears frozen or won't start because another session is still marked as active, you can use the Force option. It closes any lingering session on the device and then starts what you asked for.
